Maybe This Is the Plot Twist

"Maybe it was supposed to be this way, this is it, right?"

What if this phase is the plot twist to the best life? The part that feels like a slump, a void, a bottomless pit. Kind of like drafts that were never meant to be published. I feel a strange comfort in that thought, not because it feels convincing, but because not every version of us is meant to survive. Maybe just like a caterpillar, which is considered ugly by most, right before it goes through metamorphosis and turns into a beautiful butterfly. This is the time to stop trying to make everything add up or make sense; instead, trust the process to align itself. Of course, sometimes trusting the process is hard, specifically when it feels like the author forgot to write the next chapter, hehe!

It's not a detour; it is the road; the road to something bigger, better, and deserving of you! Sure, the process may not be as glamorous or pretty, but it sure is a slow and meaningful one. This plot twist is not the "overnight change", but rather the "realising you have changed" one.

Maybe this is where you learn to breathe without needing answers, to rest without guilt, to exist without rushing toward the next chapter. Perhaps this is where you finally stop treating becoming as a race and start treating it as an unfolding process.

Because one day, when you look back, you will realise the story never really stopped, it just took a quieter turn. And every missed opportunity, every “almost,” every slow route was quietly pushing you closer to who you were always meant to be.

  4. I am very happy to see that you are valuing every experience that comes your way on the path of life at such a small age.
Stay blessed will the thought process required to enjoy every stage however difficult is it.

  5. Narrated the phase so well with such a beautiful example of transition of caterpillar to butterfly which is almost experienced by many of us. Keep writing and keep evolving Ashmi

  7. I always wonder how every piece of your writing holds a place specially in my thoughts, and god this one is going to get added too. Taking this quitter route and trusting yourself to go through stuff is hard, but framed in a way of this mindset, it is as if nothing was ever better. I really love how you thought about the 'plot twist' to be the hard part of life when you have to figure out stuff and not how the word is glorified. LOVEEE THISS SOO MUSHHHH!!!! IN WAIT FOR THE NEW ONE ALREADYYYY!!!

  10. Dearest Ashmi,
Every word you express shows so much maturity and deep set. You, as others said, are ahead of your time and are bold enough to face that experience. All the very best for your future writings. Hope to see you as a great author one day!!!

  11. So much is spoken on "clarity of thoughts" as a topic but very few make consistent attempts towards achieving it.
Listing what and how you think, indeed matters.
This is exactly what is reflecting in this post.
Very well articulated and gripping to me!
    Way to go ..:)
