The Beauty of the Unfinished
“Unfinished things have a special beauty, like promises half-kept or songs without an ending.” — Anonymous
Have you ever experienced an unhappy ending or one that did not go as planned? Well, you are not alone!
We have been constantly conditioned to believe that happy endings are neat endings. Let us now snap back to reality. Not everything goes as expected, and if it did, life would be monotonous! We might not win every competition or get the best grade on every test. However, it is crucial to remember that every failure is another valuable lesson.
The major not-so-happy ending most of us face is "friendships". Every friend you have had till now has been a part of your life for a reason, irrespective of whether or not you are still friends. Every one of them has taught you a lesson (could be good or bad).
I have had friends who have taught me the importance of growing out of my comfort zone, that distance shouldn't make a friendship less important, and many who have made sure that I don't trust people easily.
Many incomplete poems lie on the last page of our notebook, or in your notes app, amidst to-do lists and bills. These have a beauty of their own and constantly remind us that our life is a collection of unfinished stories. Every line or unfinished sketch contributes to what makes life worth living. Good, bad or in-between, we are a mix of all.
Take a moment to reflect on the people who have been a part of your life. Reflect on the lessons they taught and the personality you have developed through those experiences. You will realise that most of these were never endings but transitions into new phases.
Embracing the beauty of the unfinished can inspire creativity. For me, my blog posts, poems and writings have almost always emerged from messy drafts, notes app, or my notebook's last page. This is proof that the process isn't something one must be afraid of; instead, they must allow themselves to make mistakes, slow down or even not work on something. Now, as you move forward with your life, keep in mind that life isn't about conclusions but also about the moments between different phases. After all, the journey shapes us, not the destination!
Such a lovely reminder! This post made me realise the essence of unfinished endings!☆

The way you have brought out the joy of unfinished things is really amazing. The last line "The journey shapes, not the destination" is factual. Keep writing.
